With The Force Awakens opening this holiday season, I had Star Wars on the mind while composing a still life for my annual “thank you” illustration to clients and followers.
Among my box of Christmas decorations — as luck would have it — is an Obi-Wan ornament (Darth Vader is actually a phone that I never use, but I like to keep him around as objet d’art in my New York City apartment).
So I combined A) classic Star Wars within B) an “Island of Misfit Toys” environment while C) painting in a neoclassical style. Following is the result.
